Statement

My paintings reflect the fleeting atmospheric conditions as the sun rises or as it sets in the West. I am captivated by the few seconds when the sky becomes full of infinite color and energy. The sky is an impermanent, universal landscape, which I find extremely appealing. In my work, I am passionate about creating these passing moments in a more lasting and emotional manner.
I strive to transport the viewer to a more peaceful, dreamlike setting, away from worries to a place of beauty and hope. My paintings are places that I have imagined. I find my work the most honest when I create from a feeling or an image in my mind’s eye. My goal as an artist is to provide the viewer with a moment of serenity and hope.

The atmosphere has the power to evoke a full spectrum of true emotion, which I find fascinating. It is for these reasons that I am motivated to explore the emotional aspects of sky and atmosphere.
